2019 Performance Oversight Hearing: Public Employee Relations Board and Office of Employee Appeals

The Committee on Labor and Workforce Development will hold a performance oversight hearing on Thursday, February 14, 2019 at 1:00pm in Room 123 of the John A. Wilson Building (1350 Pennsylvania Ave. NW) regarding the following agencies:

Public Oversight Roundtable on the Universal Paid Leave Act (L21-264)

The Committee on Labor and Workforce Development will convene a public oversight roundtable on the Implementation of Law 21-264, the Universal Paid Leave Act on Tuesday, January 29, 2019 beginning at 1:30pm in Room 500 of the John A. Wilson Building (1350 Pennsylvania Ave. NW). The law establishes a paid leave system to provide partial wage replacement for District residents in need of leave from work due to serious family illness, personal medical leave, or care for a new child.

Committee Mark-Up on B22-212 and Four Confirmation Resolutions with Agenda

The Committee on Labor and Workforce Development will hold an additional meeting on Monday, November 26, at 3:30pm in Room 123 on the John A. Wilson Building (1350 Pennsylvania Ave. NW). The Committee will consider the following measures:

Public Roundtable on Police Union/MPD Collective Bargaining Agreement with Agenda

On Wednesday, November 14, the Labor and Workforce Development Committee held a public roundtable on PR22-1048, Collective Bargaining Agreement between the District of Columbia Government Metropolitan Police Department and the D.C. Police Union (Fraternal Order of Police/Metropolitan Police Department (FOP/MPD) Labor Committee (Compensation Unit 3) Approval Resolution of 2018.

Paid Leave Oversight Roundtable with Agenda

On Tuesday, October 9, the Labor and Workforce Development Committee will hold its fourth oversight roundtable on implementation of the Universal Paid Leave Act. It will be in Hearing Room 123 of the John A. Wilson Building (1350 Pennsylvania Ave. NW) at 10:00am.

UPDATED: Notice of 6/21 First Source Roundtable with Addt'l Materials

Councilmember Elissa Silverman, Chair of the Committee on Labor and Workforce Development, will hold a public roundtable on the District of Columbia’s First Source hiring law and employment program, which sets hiring requirements for taxpayer-funded projects. The roundtable will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 21, 2018, in Room 500 of the John A. Wilson Building (1350 Pennsylvania Ave. NW).

Notice of 7/11 Roundtable on Universal Paid Leave Act

Previous oversight roundtables were held on November 20, 2017, and January 31, 2018, as well as during the Department of Employment Services FY19 budget oversight hearing on April 20, 2018.
